Those who know me know that I love innovation and unusual gadgets.
Just ask my friend Marc Laroche, who gave me as a gift a toilet paper dispenser… that is also a radio. When I saw a lot of cynicism towards Google’s Project Glass, I was a little disappointed. You have the right to think that the glasses do not suit your needs or are not useful, but it is still an innovation. Every time Google or Apple innovates, members of the opposing clan are cynical. And each time, it makes me think about the story of Galileo who said that the earth was round. This major discovery was harshly criticized, but a lot of conceptual things changed after that. For my part, innovation changes the world at different levels. My toilet paper dispenser-radio has not really changed the world, but now I can listen to the radio when I take a bath. The inventor of this gadget certainly did not think of this use. However, if you look at the iPhone or Google’s smart car, you can clearly see what it brings to people. Let’s not denigrate innovation, but rather try to find the impact it may have in the future. For example, the Google glasses could be used to display a patient’s vital information. Thus, the doctor would no longer have to constantly look up to a screen that shows current vital signs. Please give a chance to innovation. Try to consider the scope of it; it could change your world!
